Blow My Fuse
Label: Atlantic Records
Bursting like M-80s out of small-town Maryland in the early '80s, hair-metal's most underrated band re-imagined early AC/DC as Cars-era new wave -- but with bawdy punmanship a la Bon Scott left intact. Atlantic stuck with them for five great albums, but only this, their fourth, had an actual hit: "Don't Close Your Eyes," an anti-suicide ballad. It was just about the only slow song they ever did. The rest of these tracks hilariously and boisterously equate sex with blowing things up. The almost Mott The Hoople-like "Cold Blood" has as much dance in it as any hard rock the '80s produced.
