By the time Whitesnake released Slide It In, the group's transformation from boogie behemoth to pop metal juggernaut was complete. Totally void of the ponderous blues-rock that marred earlier albums, Slide It In's sleek attack owes more to Def Leppard and Judas Priest than Deep Purple. This deluxe reissue contains a fat sack of bonus jams, including new mixes of nine of the album's 10 tracks. There's even a radical reworking of "Need Your Love So Bad," which was a hit for Fleetwood Mac in the late '60s.
